Discover Scuba Diving

You heard so much about diving but yet haven’t had a chance to try? We invite you in to the world of silence and zero-gravity, where you loose the sense of time and all the vanity and anxiety, the world of dazzling silent beauty.

Perhaps, doing the first steps in to the captivating world of diving will be more interesting if having this one day introductory course. You will get the knowledge and work out the skills that later on will be used while diving in the open water to the depth of 12 meters! Equipment will be selected for you and you will have a detailed briefing on how to use it, what you will be doing during the dive and which inhabitants of the underwater kingdom you will be able to see. And what’s the most important - your studies in Discover Scuba Diving course can be taken in account in the future as the training dives №1 in the confined and open water, in case you decide to pass the PADI Open Water Diver course.

Requirements to candidates: no diving experience at all, will to gain this experience, age minimum 10 years ( for children under 10 – Bubblemaker program)

Program:

- Introductory briefing (30 minutes)

- 2 shore dives to maximum depth 12 meters for 20-40 minutes.

Introduction Dive (intro dive)

Introductory dives are meant for getting common idea about diving. Perhaps, you could like being a diver so much, that you would decide to pass the basic PADI Open Water Diver course or Discover Scuba Diving course.

Program:

• Introductory dive (30 minutes)

• Shore dive to the maximum depth 6 meters for 30-40 minutes.

Open Water Diver

No matter if you want to study the underwater inhabitants or you are attracted by the secrets of the wrecks, fascinated by the depths or you just want to enjoy the underwater serenity, the OWD course will be your first serious step into the immense world of diving.  This is one of the most popular courses that gives you the theoretical knowledge and diving skills. This is the experience you will be enlarging if you decide to move on with your studies

If you are a complete beginner or you have a little experience in diving, after finishing this course you will be able to dive with a buddy and without an instructor to the depth of 18 meters. Especially it will be interesting to pass this course in the Red Sea due to it’s unique richness. Each lesson will become a breathtaking dive.

Course duration – 4-5 days.

Requirements to candidates. Minimum age - 10 years (all the documents and blanks for candidates who are under 18 are signed by parents or tutors). Before you start the course you fill in the medical form, sometimes medical examination is required. You can consult your doctor prior you travel or here in Dahab you can visit the doctors of the Hyperbaric Medical Center.

Within the course you will be required to swim a 200 meters distance and demonstrate the ability to stay on the water surface during 10 minutes.

The program includes:

- theory,  after finishing studying which you pass the exam. The theory lessons are held in specially equipped classes, using educational films and slides

- 5 practical exercises in the confined water with diving in the shore zone to the maximum depth of 6 meters.

- 4 dives in the open water to the maximum depths of 18 meters.

We recommend to pass the two days course Advanced Open Water Diver straight after finishing the Open Water course. This way you will finish 2 courses within a week, to improve your skills you got in the OWD course and at the same time gaining new experience.

Required materials (we advise you to buy and read the textbook in advance)

Open Water Diver text book (English language); Recreational Dive Planner RDP with the manual (sold together with the textbook) or “wheel”-planner (sold separately)

Educational video you will be able to see in the classroom with your instructor or to buy yourself.

As well you can purchase the “Recreational diving Encyclopedia” in which you will find answers to all questions appearing during your studies.

Open Water Diver referral

If you have started the Open Water Diver course in your home town, but don’t have a chance to get the certificate before your trip to the Red Sea, or you want to arrange your time in a rational way, you can split your course. To be precise, you can do the theory and dives in the confined water (in a swimming pool) in your home city with one instructor, and then finish the course and do the open water part in Ok Club in Dahab. All the exercises you already did will be taken in to account for the certification.

Requirements to the candidates. You need to provide the following documents:

-PADI Open Water Diver Course Record and Referral Form, in which you have the dates you passed the theory and confined water.  As an example, your instructor can issue you a Referral Card, what automatically confirms that you have successfully finished the theory and confined water studies.

Attention! The PADI Open Water Diver Course Record and Referral Form is valid during 12 months since the date of the last lesson. It’s recommended you complete your education as soon as possible.

-a copy of the filled in by the student “medical form”;

Program:

-4 dives in the open water;

-PADI Scuba Review program - for those, who have passed the first part of the course more than 6 months ago, or can also be required by the instructor.

Same as for the full OWD course

P.S. In accordance to the latest changes in PADI standards, the instructor has the right to pass the student to another instructor to complete the course at any point during the course, not only after finalizing the theory and confined water exercises. Contact us regarding the cost of this course, as the price varies according to the level of the student.

PADI Scuba Diver

If you are short in time but want to start the basic PADI course, you have a possibility to pass just one half of the PADI Open Water Diver course and get an appropriate certificate. This level gives you the right to dive to 12 meters accompanied by a dive professional, in the future, having passed the second part of the course, you can upgrade to the Open Water Diver lever. In our club you can do both: pass the Scuba Diver course, or arriving with a scuba diver certificate complete the OWD course within 2 days.

Requirements to candidates: Age 10+ .

Program:

- 3 theory blocks from the PADI Open Water Diver course.

- 3 training dives in the confined water

- 2 dives in the open water

Materials:

Same as for the full OWD course

Scuba Review

Program Scuba Review is created for certified divers that had quite a long break in diving. The course is also given to Open Water Diver course students, who have finished the theory part and practical exercises in the swimming pool (Refferal course) more than 6 months ago and aim to get the PADI Open Water Diver certification. During this course you will refresh your forgotten skills.

Duration. 1 day / 2 dives

Requirements to candidates: Age 10+. Certificate or Refferal Form

Program:

-theory (selection from the Open Water Diver course – at the discretion of the instructor – the required minimum for safe diving);

- 2 dives with the instructor, during which you will repeat 18 basic skills.
